CM Nayab Saini may present interim budget
Chandigarh News (Aaj Samaj) Chandigarh: The winter session of the newly constituted Haryana Assembly is likely to begin on November 8. The session will begin with Governor Bandaru Dattatreya’s address. In the session, the Finance Minister will present the interim budget on behalf of the Haryana Government. Chief Minister Nayab Saini holds the Finance Ministry. The proceedings of the legislative session will begin under the chairmanship of Harvindra Kalyan, who became assembly speaker by winning the Gharaunda assembly seat in Karnal for the third time. The winter session is likely to last three days.
There will be a two-day holiday at the Assembly because November 9 will be a Saturday and November 10 will be a Sunday. Subsequently, the sessions may be held again on November 11 and 12. Newly elected Assembly Speaker Harvinder Kalyan held a meeting of Assembly Secretariat officials in Chandigarh on Tuesday. In the meeting, President Kalyan instructed all officers to work with discipline. The speaker said that the legislative branch is the supreme institution of democracy and the staff of the assembly secretariat is its important link. He inspired the Assembly Secretariat to take full care of the honor and dignity of all MLAs.
Congress will elect the leader of the opposition
The Congressional Legislature Party leader may be elected one or two days before the session. Of the 37 Congress MPs in the Assembly, 33 are supporters of former Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda. In such a situation, despite Kumari Selja’s opposition, Hooda will be ignored by the Congress high command, although it seems less likely. There is a good chance that former Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda will become the leader of the opposition in the assembly. If the Congress high command does not agree on Hooda’s name, then Thanesar MLA and former president Ashok Arora can also be given this responsibility. Congress MLA Bibi Batra or Aftab Ahmed may become the chief whip.
