The entire matter is in Mant police station area of Mathura where in a joint investigation by police and GST flying squad at Mant toll plaza on Yamuna Expressway, more than 12 kg of gold was recovered from a car on Monday night. Police officials said the gold jewelery was kept in sweet boxes and weighed 12.387 kg. Deputy Commissioner (GST) Kartar Singh on Tuesday said that the two people wearing the gold jewelery could not give clear answers when questioned. These jewelery have been seized along with the car and a notice has been issued to the driver of the car, Vivek Gupta. These two people have been asked to provide details about the jewelery within three days.
Jewelry was taken from Delhi to Deoria
Vivek Gupta, a resident of Shakarpur, Delhi, is a bullion businessman. Their relatives also work as bullion in Deoria. On Monday night he was heading to Deoria by car with his friend Ramesh, a resident of Bihar’s Siwan district, wearing gold ornaments. Mant police were checking the toll plaza at 12 midnight. The police stopped this car coming from Noida. Inside the car were boxes of candy. When the police opened them, they found gold jewelry inside.
The police recovered twelve and a half kilos of gold jewelery from his possession. As soon as information was received about the discovery of such a large quantity of jewellery, senior police officials rushed to the spot. He questioned the two occupants of the car about the dream, but they could not give any satisfactory answer. In such a situation, the police informed the GST department about this.
