19 of 21 councilors attended the meeting
Kaithal News (Aaj Samaj) Kaithal: Kaithal Zilla Parishad has a new president. BJP’s Karambir Kaul has been unanimously elected president of Zilla Parishad today. 19 out of 21 councilors participated in the meeting held at the Zilla Parishad office. Everyone supported Karambir Kaul’s name. Apart from this, Deputy CEO Ritu Lather, Pundri MLA Satpal Jamba, former BJP district president Ashok Gurjar and district president Munish Kathwad also attended the meeting. Previously, Karambir Kaul was vice president.
During that time, Karambir Kaul had opened a front against the then President Deep Malik. At the first meeting of the House, the power to distribute subsidies was taken away from the President. BJP-backed Vice President Karambir Kaul had the right to distribute grants through voting. However, Deep Malik later got the right to distribute the grant. After this councilor started rebelling against Deep Malik. There were accusations of discrimination in the distribution of grants by the President. He was also accused of implicating the councilor and his representative in a corruption case. So Deep Malik could not save his chair.
