How was Sudarshan Chakra formed?
Sudarshan Chakra is mentioned in the Koti Yudh Samhita of Shiv Purana. Sudarshan Chakra of Lord Vishnu was created by Lord Shiva and then given to Lord Vishnu. After which he reached Lord Parashuram, the incarnation of Lord Vishnu. After that, he gave this chakra to Shri Krishna. According to legend, when the atrocities committed by demons increased throughout creation, all the gods and goddesses turned to Lord Vishnu. But to defeat the demons, Lord Vishnu needed a divine weapon. Therefore he went to Mount Kailash and started worshiping Lord Shiva. Lord Vishnu praised Bholenath with a thousand names and with each name he offered him a lotus flower. Then Bholenath hid one of those thousand lotus flowers to test Lord Vishnu.
Due to the scarcity of a flower, Lord Vishnu offered one of his eyes to Lord Shiva. After which Bholenath became happy and presented the self-made Sudarshan Chakra to Lord Shri Hari Vishnu. Shri Hari used this Chakra and many times he freed the gods from the atrocities of demons with the help of this Chakra. Sudarshan Chakra became forever associated with the form of Lord Vishnu. After this, Shri Hari gave this Chakra to Mother Parvati when needed. From Mother Parvati, this cycle passed through many gods and goddesses and reached Lord Parashuram.
Characteristics of the Sudarshan chakra
Sudarshan Chakra is one of the powerful weapons of Lord Krishna. Although it has a small range, it was considered the most accurate weapon. Because after being released, he would return only after destroying the enemy. It was impossible to stop this weapon by any means.
