This bribery case is from Fatehgarh Sahib. Providing information in this regard, the Vigilance Bureau spokesperson said that Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Mandeep Singh, in-charge of Nabipur Police Post in Sirhind Police Station of Fatehgarh Sahib District, was caught with red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000. . The government spokesperson said that the said police employee was arrested on the basis of the complaint lodged by Vineet Kumar, a resident of Ludhiana.

The complainant alleged that

The complainant approached the Vigilance Bureau alleging that the sub-inspector demanded Rs 25,000 in exchange for releasing his two private ambulances that had met with a road accident with a truck, but the deal was struck for Rs 20,000. The case related to this road accident is registered at the Sadar police station. The complainant further alleged that the accused had already accepted Rs 5,000 as first bribe payment.

The spokesperson further said that after preliminary investigation into this complaint, a surveillance team of the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) laid a trap during which this police officer was arrested for collecting the second payment from the complainant in the presence of two witnesses. of the government. was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000.
