Objectionable comment about Muslim journalist banned in live debate – NTC

CNN publicly apologized and banned its journalist for commenting on a Muslim journalist. The channel had made an on-air comment by one of its journalists about a Muslim journalist, which the outlet called racist. CNN apologized to a Muslim journalist and said it had banned a conservative commentator from its network.

“I hope your pager doesn’t ring,” panelist and Trump supporter Ryan Girdusky told Muslim journalist Mehdi Hasan during a discussion Monday night about recent comments made by Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump at a rally.

Although Girdusky later apologized for his on-air comments, he defended himself on social media by saying it was a joke. Previously, Hasan had said he was pro-Palestinian.

“There is no place for racism on CNN”

After the incident, CNN anchor Abby Philip apologized to Hasan. “There is no place for racism or bigotry on CNN or our broadcasts,” CNN said in a separate statement. “Ryan Girdusky will not be welcomed back into our network,” he said.

Panelist’s reaction to the channel’s action

Girdusky said: “You can be on CNN if you falsely call all Republicans Nazis and accept money from Qatar-funded media. Obviously you can’t be on CNN if you make jokes.”

Last month, Israel attacked Hezbollah in Lebanon by attacking pagers and radios, in which many Hezbollah fighters were killed and many people injured. Ryan Girdusky’s rhetoric was about this attack on pagers.

Let us tell you that after the attack by Palestinian Hamas terrorists on October 7, 2023, Israel has carried out attacks in Gaza and Lebanon. Many human rights activists have noted this as a growing threat and rhetoric against American Muslims, Arabs and Jews.
