The Ministry of Education has extended the registration process for the fifth phase of Yuva Sangam. Candidates who want to register for this annual cultural and educational exchange program can register on the official website until October 25, 2024. The last date of registration for the program was October 21, 2024.
“Due to the increase in responses in recent days and to facilitate the registration of interested participants, it became necessary to extend the deadline,” said a senior education ministry official.
Who can participate?
Yuva Sangam aims to promote engagement and collaboration among youth aged 18-30 across India. The program is now in its fifth phase and has facilitated intercultural education and interaction for 4,795 youth across the country through 114 visits.
The sustainable and structured cultural relationship between people of different regions was initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the National Unity Day organized to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on October 31, 2015. To strengthen this idea, the October 31, 2015 Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) program was launched.
What is included in the program?
Supported by several other central ministries and departments, the exchange program takes participants on intensive tours across the states to experience local history, culture and traditions and gain a deeper understanding of the country’s diversity.
The program can be attended by young professionals (employed or self-employed) and students, including NSS and NYKS volunteers, as well as off-campus youth enrolled in online courses at skill institutes, etc. Candidates should focus on 5 areas: 5 Ps or let’s say; A life-changing experience will be provided through multi-dimensional exposure to tourism, tradition, progress, interaction and technology.
