Kejriwal has said this is necessary to protect people from pollution.

Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has said there is no “Hindu-Muslim” aspect in the government’s decision to ban firecrackers. While talking to the media, Kejriwal said that it is not that we are doing any favors to others. We are doing ourselves a favor because ultimately we and our young children will be victims of the pollution caused by bursting firecrackers.
