The agitated doctors of RG Kar Medical College along with common people organized a torchlight procession in Kolkata on Wednesday night and demanded justice for the doctor who was a victim of rape and murder on August 9. Representatives of the West Bengal Young Doctors Forum and various civil society organizations took out the rally from the West Bengal Medical Council office in Sector 3 of Salt Lake to the CBI office at CGO Complex in Sector 1 .
WBJDF has demanded that CBI expedite its investigation before the next hearing on November 4. The demonstration also had the support of a sector of high-level doctors. During this, people raised slogans like ‘We want justice’ and demanded that CBI should soon complete its investigation in the rape and murder case.
According to PTI, one of the agitated doctors said, “It has been almost three months since the incident. The CBI is still investigating the case. We want them to expedite their investigation.”
