The United States has banned

The US ban was extended to 15 countries on Wednesday. It banned 398 companies from these countries. The United States says these companies helped Russia during the Russia-Ukraine war. Companies banned by the United States include companies from India, Russia and China.

A statement issued by the United States said that these 398 companies provided such products and services to Russia, which was embroiled in the war with Ukraine, aiding its war efforts. The US Departments of Finance and Foreign Affairs took joint action on this matter and banned these companies.

Action to punish Russia’s helpers

The United States says the purpose of this joint action is to punish those third countries that worked to help Russia and also prevent them from violating sanctions imposed on Russia by Western countries due to the Russia-Ukraine war.

Russia attacked Ukraine in February 2022. After this, many Western countries led by the United States imposed various types of economic sanctions on Russia. These economic sanctions have been imposed on Russia since then.

Prohibited companies delivered these products and services

Of the 398 companies that the US Department of Finance has sanctioned that are indirectly linked to countries that support Russia, 274 companies are accused of providing advanced technology to Russia. This also includes Russian-based manufacturing and defense companies. These companies work to improve weapons and related tools that were used in the war against Ukraine.

Apart from this, the US State Department has also imposed diplomatic sanctions on several senior officials of the Russian Defense Ministry and a group of defense companies and companies based in China. These companies are involved in the export of dual-use defense products.
