What will be the agenda of the Arab-Islamic summit?

On the one hand, Saudi Arabia is organizing a two-day meeting starting Wednesday to try to pressure Israel to create an independent Palestine. On the other hand, the next summit to be held in about 10 days will discuss the current Israeli attack on the Palestinian territories and Lebanon, as well as the most recent situation in the region, because now this conflict is no longer limited to Gaza. . or Lebanon. Reporting on the summit, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said the Kingdom condemns Israeli crimes and attacks against the Palestinian people. It also runs counter to Israeli efforts to weaken Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

What happened at the last summit?

Leaders of Arab and Islamic countries participated in the summit held last year in Riyadh. While this summit was chaired by the Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia, the Foreign Ministers of Jordan, Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, Indonesia, Nigeria and Palestine met with the Secretaries General of the Arab League and the Cooperation Organization Organization (OIC) to begin international mobilization. He was tasked with coordinating global efforts to stop the Gaza war. At the same time, a serious and genuine political process can be carried out to achieve a comprehensive and lasting peace on the basis of an international framework.

The situation is rapidly deteriorating in northern Gaza

In fact, the situation in Gaza is becoming more terrifying every day. Half of Gaza’s population is currently confined to northern Gaza. According to the Palestinian Civil Emergency Service (PCES), around one lakh people are stranded in Jabaliya, Beit Lahiya and Beit Hanoun without treatment or food supplies.

Saudi Arabia concerned about Gaza

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan called the humanitarian situation in Gaza disastrous and condemned Israel for the siege of northern Gaza. He said that “Israel is carrying out genocide with the aim of expelling the Palestinian people from their land, which Saudi Arabia rejects.”
