Uddhav Thackeray’s problems increased.

Uddhav Thackeray’s troubles show no signs of stopping ever since the results of the assembly elections in Maharashtra came out. Now the health of a senior MP from Uddhav Thackeray’s party, Shiv Sena UBT, has deteriorated. Uddhav Thackeray faction MLA Mahesh Sawant was admitted to the hospital after complaining of chest pain. He has been admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai. According to information, an angiography was performed on Mahesh Sawant in which the obstruction was reported to have been removed.

Mahesh Sawant lives off Mahim

In the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections, Mahesh Sawant had contested from Mahim Assembly seat on behalf of Shiv Sena UBT. In this seat, he defeated Shiv Sena’s Sada Sarvankar and Raj Thackeray’s son Amit Thackeray. Mahesh Sawant had secured 50,213 votes in the elections. Sada Sarwankar came in second position with 48,897 votes and Amit Thackeray came in third position with 33,062 votes.

Pressure on Uddhav to quit MVA

According to sources, Shiv Sena (UBT) is preparing to contest the upcoming municipal corporation and local body elections on its own. Party workers, as well as candidates who lost the elections and those who won, have also urged Uddhav Thackeray to leave Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) soon. However, Uddhav Thackeray has not taken any decision yet. Eknath Shinde and forty MLAs along with him have given a shock to Uddhav by rebelling due to the formation of the government with the Congress; In such a situation, it remains to be seen what decision Uddhav takes.

Who got how many seats?

In the Maharashtra Assembly elections, Mahayuti’s BJP won 132 seats, the NCP 41 and Shiv Sena 57 seats (total 230). At the same time, Mahavikas Aghadi’s Shiv Sena (UBT) won 20 seats, Congress 16 and NCP (Sharad Chandra Pawar) 10 (46 in total). The remaining 12 seats were won by other parties or independents.
