Businessman Sanjay Shyam Dasani lived with his wife and maid in Pandu Nagar area under Kakadev police station area in Kanpur. On Diwali night, the businessman celebrated the festival by performing puja at home with his family. Apart from keeping lamps outside the house, temple lamps are also kept inside the house throughout the night. As soon as information about the incident was received, police and fire brigade vehicles reached the spot and started rescue operations.

Giving information about the case, DCP Dinesh Tripathi said that as soon as information about the fire was received, the fire brigade vehicle reached the spot and after extinguishing the fire, Sanjay Shyam Dasani, his wife Kanika and maid Chhavi were shifted. to the hospital. After examinations, doctors at the hospital declared that all three had died. According to information, the three died of asphyxiation due to smoke from the fire. The police have seized all the bodies and sent them for autopsy. The police have started investigating the matter.
