The opposition leader emphasized that the important fight in the country today is to protect and preserve the Constitution. He said that the country’s Constitution was not written with hatred, but with humility and love. Addressing a street meeting in Mananthavady as part of Sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s election campaign in Wayanad, Rahul said the security we have, the greatness of our country, everything comes from the Constitution. Priyanka is contesting the Congress candidate in the by-elections for the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat.
Rahul said the Constitution was not written in a spirit of anger or hatred. It was written by those who fought against British rule, who suffered and spent years in prison. These people wrote the Constitution with great humility, love and a sense of belonging. The opposition leader said this is a fight between love and hate. He said it’s a battle between trust and insecurity. And if you really want to win this battle, you have to eliminate anger and hatred from your heart and replace it with love, humility and compassion. Rahul said he was seeking votes for the first time for his sister, who had campaigned for him and his parents in the past. Rahul said he is the same person who hugged the girl involved in my father’s murder. He told me this when he came back after meeting Nalini. She got emotional and told me she felt bad for him. “This is what you’ve been taught,” he said.
BJP’s objective is not people’s development: Priyanka
At the same time, Priyanka continued to attack the central government during the election campaign and accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of going out of his way for his industry friends. The Congress general secretary said that the Modi Ji government works only for its friends in the industry. Their goal is not to give you a better life. Its goal is not to create new job opportunities for educated young people. Its objective is not to provide better education and health services to the people or take welfare measures for them. Priyanka accused the Modi government of dividing the people, spreading hatred among them, snatching away their rights and destroying democratic institutions. Priyanka said that they (Modi government) attacked Rahul Gandhi ji because he fought for the rights of the people. The Congress General Secretary mentioned the work done with Mother Teresa and Sister Rosebell who live in Mananthavady. He vowed to continue the fight for the establishment of a medical college equipped with complete healthcare facilities in the area.
