Meenakshi Sheshadri, one of the popular actresses of the 80s and 90s, has made a shocking revelation. Meenakshi did films with the biggest Bollywood stars of her time and was one of the biggest actresses of that era.

Meenakshi worked with Sunny Deol in many films including iconic films like ‘Damini’. Now Meenakshi has told that when director Rahul Rawail signed her opposite Sunny Deol for the film ‘Dacait’, he refused to pay her fees.

Meenakshi made a shocking revelation
In a conversation with Friday Talkies, Meenakshi said, ‘Rahul Rawail ji came to meet me. I thought I would work with the director who had made films like ‘Betaab’, ‘Arjun’ and ‘Love Story’. He told me clearly that Sunny will play the lead role in ‘Dacait’ and that his family will be given more importance in the film. But the 5-6 scenes and 2-3 songs you will be seen in will be very good and have good content and I believe in portraying my heroines very beautifully. I told him he didn’t need convincing.

Meenakshi further said, ‘He made me cry during the signing. He flatly refused to pay my fees. He said, ‘I won’t pay you fees. You’re working with me, this is your rate. Whatever I give you, keep it happily.” Meenakshi said that she was a big fan of Rahul Rawail who started smiling while crying and agreed to do the film.

Meenakshi to return after 27 years
Meenakshi made her Hindi film debut in the 1980s. She worked with many big stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Rajesh Khanna, Jeetendra, Vinod Khanna and Shatrughan Sinha. After working in films for about 13 years, Meenakshi retired from acting in 1996 to focus on her personal life and settled in the United States.

Now, after almost 27 years, he is preparing to return to acting. In an interview with ETimes, Meenakshi said, “I think filmmakers today would like to see what I am like today, what my artistic expression is, before they decide to write a script for me. It will be interesting to see what kind of roles they offer me.” .
