Assembly elections 2024: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has become the center of discussion these days because of one of his slogans. During the assembly elections held in Haryana, he had given the slogan “If you divide, you will be divided” and now the echo of this slogan is heard in both Jharkhand and Maharashtra. How far this slogan of Yogi has caused a stir in the elections in both states can be seen from the reaction of the opposition leaders. Let us understand why this slogan is becoming a hit in the assembly elections of Maharashtra and Jharkhand.
Issue of Bangladeshi infiltration looms large in Jharkhand
These days the issue of infiltration of Bangladeshis is in the limelight in Jharkhand. The seriousness of this issue can be gauged from the fact that opposition leaders are not seen speaking openly about it. At the same time, the BJP alleges that due to Bangladeshi infiltration, the demographics have changed in many areas of Jharkhand and people who believe in Sanatan Dharma are facing problems. Let us tell you that the last few months have seen communal tension in many areas of Jharkhand and this is the reason why Yogi’s motto of “If you divide, you will be cut off” is current in the hearts and minds of the people.
Hemant Soren responded to Yogi Adityanath
Now the opponents have also started responding to the slogan of “If you divide, you will be cut”, which was prevalent in the Jharkhand elections. When Yogi appealed to people to remain united through his slogan at rallies in Jharkhand, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren tried to respond to Yogi. Kharge and Soren said that the public knows very well what the divide and divide agenda is. Criticizing the BJP, Soren claimed that no Hindu is in danger in the state, but the opposition party is only trying to create tension here through its Hindu-Muslim discourse.
Why did Yogi’s slogan cause a stir in the opposition?
After all, why has Yogi Adityanath created a stir in the opposition with his slogan? The simple answer to this could be the recently concluded assembly elections in Haryana. This slogan of Yogi definitely created a stir in Haryana and helped the BJP win a losing battle. When Yogi raised the issues of Soren government’s corruption, mafia protection, love jihad, land jihad and Bangladeshi infiltrators in his recent election rallies in Jharkhand, the public supported him. But the biggest applause at these meetings was the motto “If you divide, you will be cut off.” Political experts believe that seeing people’s reaction to this slogan has created a stir among the opposition.
Shivraj gave the motto “If you join, only then will you be saved.”
Taking a cue from Yogi Adityanath, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has also given the slogan: “Join, only then will you be saved.” Addressing the people, he said that to save Jharkhand, everyone will have to come together. On the other hand, the Mughals and the Aurangzeb were also widely mentioned in Yogi’s rallies. Yogi said that just as ‘Alamgir’ Aurangzeb once looted the country, the same way Soren government minister Alamgir Alam is looting Jharkhand. Accusing the Soren government of promoting corruption in the state, he said Alamgir Alam is filling its coffers by looting the public.
‘The people who distribute are giving advice to others’
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge responded to Yogi and Shivraj. Kharge, while attacking Yogi at the Kanke rally, said that people who divide are now warning others that those who divide will be divided. The senior Congress leader said the divide and cut agenda is that of the RSS and the BJP, people of Jharkhand should be alert about it. While targeting the BJP, Hemant Soren said that those who try to divide people over votes will be destroyed forever. He said the country will not accept such people.
Yogi’s motto is also prevalent in Maharashtra.
Yogi’s motto of “If you divide, you will be divided” is very popular not only in Jharkhand but also in Maharashtra. All BJP leaders raise the slogan “If you divide, you will divide” and ask people to vote together. BJP leaders feel that Muslims openly vote against their party, but Hindu society is divided along caste lines and the party’s opponents take advantage of this. That is why Bharatiya Janata Party leaders repeatedly remind people of the Hindu community in elections that if they are divided into castes, then they will face the same danger that Hindus face in Bangladesh.
