India and China have completed the disengagement process in the conflict zones of Demchok and Depsang in eastern Ladakh. After this process, the armies of both countries also completed a round of patrolling. Both sides have agreed to conduct coordinated patrols in these areas every week, to ensure the effective implementation of the disengagement process. This coordination occurs at the local level and its basic rules are decided after negotiations between local commanders.
The armies of India and China are following the previous agreements made at Demchok and Depsang, which were signed with the objective of maintaining peace and stability on the border. Through patrols, both sides have ensured that the disengagement process has been implemented correctly. Apart from this, both sides also agreed to remove temporary structures in these disputed areas. India and China will patrol on different days
The neighboring countries had agreed to withdraw troops from both areas in October and after this, coordinated patrols were carried out for the first time in early November. According to Defense sources, Indian and Chinese soldiers will patrol in each area on different days. This agreement will ensure that neither party has to face a conflict situation and that peace can be maintained on the border.
Round of talks on LAC continues
To maintain stability on the LAC, talks between local commanders will continue. Brigadiers and officers of similar rank participate in these conversations, trying to make the withdrawal process more organized and effective. The purpose of these meetings is to ensure peace between the two countries and resolve any new problems. Arrangements to resolve any possible disputes peacefully in the future are also discussed within this framework.
Sweets were given away on Diwali
This year, on the occasion of Diwali on October 31, Indian and Chinese soldiers again maintained the ancient tradition and exchanged sweets. This step is a positive signal to promote cordial relations between the two armies. This exchange of sweets between the two countries is a symbol of peace and cooperation on the border, showing that India and China are moving towards strengthening relations through dialogue and coordination by eliminating mutual differences.

There was a clash between Indian and Chinese soldiers on June 15 and 16, 2020 in the Galwan Valley of eastern Ladakh. 20 Indian soldiers were killed in this conflict, while many Chinese soldiers were also killed, their number said to be almost double that of Indian soldiers. However, China never officially revealed the actual number of its troops. After this incident, relations between the two countries deteriorated and tension increased on the border.
