During the investigation of the Baba Siddiqui murder case, the police learned that Aftab Poonawala, accused in the Delhi Shraddha Walker murder case, is the target of the Lawrence Gang.
Aftab Poonawala is lodged in Delhi’s Tihar Jail after his arrest in the Shraddha Walker murder case. According to sources, people from Lawrence gang are keeping an eye on him in Tihar jail. This has been revealed by Shivkumar Gautam, the main accused in the Baba Siddiqui murder case. He said his friend Shubham Lonkar had told him about this. Upon hearing such news, the Tihar jail administration has become alert regarding Aftab’s safety.
The Shraddha Walker murder case is a case that shook the entire India. This matter came to light in May 2022, when the Delhi Police filed a missing complaint on 26-year-old Shraddha Volker, and the revelations made during the investigation shocked everyone. In this case, police arrested Shraddha’s alleged lover Aftab Poonawala, who confessed to murdering her and cutting her body into 35 pieces.
Shraddha Walker was a resident of Palghar district of Maharashtra. I used to work in a call center in Mumbai. In the year 2029, she met Aftab Poonawala on a dating app. First there was the friendship between the two, which very soon became a love relationship. They both stayed away from their respective families and began living in a live-in relationship. When Shraddha told her family about her relationship with Aftab, they started opposing her because he was a Muslim.
Regardless of all this, Shraddha accepted Aftab as her everything. I started dreaming of marrying him. He also began to pressure her to get married. Worried about this, Aftab began plotting to get her out of his way. To do this, he first took her trekking in Himachal Pradesh. She felt that he would push her to death during the follow-up. In this way an accident of murder can be shown. But he could not succeed in his nefarious plan.
After this, in the year 2022, Aftab Poonawala arrived in Delhi with Shraddha Walker. Here, through a person named Badri, he rented a house in Chhatarpur area of Delhi. They both began to live together there. Here the relationship between the two continually deteriorated. Aftab used to beat him often. He used to abuse her while he was drunk. Shraddha was fed up with his actions. Meanwhile, she came into contact with another guy through a dating app.
On 17 May 2022, Shraddha went to Gurugram for the first time to meet a new friend. After this, when he did not return home until evening, Aftab became worried. He started calling her continuously, but she didn’t answer all night. The next day i.e. 18th May 2022 at around 11 am he returned to the Chhatarpur apartment. As soon as he entered, he met Aftab. He was already angry. He got angry as soon as he saw her. He began to question him.
To this Shraddha Walker replied and replied: What do you mean? I’ll do whatever I want. Hearing this response from Shraddha, Aftab became enraged and beat Shraddha. However, after a while they both returned to normal. After this, they both ordered food online. It was already night, but even before dinner, Aftab once again got angry at Shraddha for not returning at night. They both started fighting. Aftab knocked him down.
She sat on his chest and strangled him to death. After murdering Shraddha on May 18, Aftab began wondering how and where to dispose of her body. After this, he made a plan to keep the dead body in a bag and take it to Himachal Pradesh and dispose of it. He thought he would put Shraddha’s body in a bag, take it to Himachal and dump it there. He also bought a large black bag worth Rs 1,200.
Aftab also made phone calls to some travel agents to book a taxi. But at the same time he thought that even if he carried the body in the bag, there would be checkpoints at various places while he was going from Delhi to Himachal. Thinking this he canceled this plan. Now, after seeing the corpse, he began to think of new ways to dispose of it. At the same time, he realized that there was a huge forest nearby, where he could easily cut the corpse into pieces and dispose of it.
After this he bought sharp weapons. That same night, the body was cut into 35 pieces in the bathroom on the floor. He had cut the pieces into very small pieces, so that if someone found them, it would not be easy to identify whether they belonged to a human being. Not only this, he separated his fingers and nails and burned them. After this, one by one, the packs of corpses were taken to the forest and disposed of within 3 or 4 days. Then the entire house was washed with acid in such a way that not a single piece of evidence could be found.
After this, as part of the conspiracy, Aftab started using Shraddha Walker’s mobile phone. He often changes DP. He would respond to his friends’ messages. So that people feel that they are alive. But after two or three months he stopped doing it. One day, one of Shraddha’s friends called her brother and informed him that she had not been active on social media for the past few days. In such a situation, he is worried about her. The brother informed his father about this matter.
He called her number, but couldn’t reach her, so he went to the local police station. He talked about the relationship between Aftab and his daughter and asked to look for him, but the police did not pay much attention. Here the father was continually searching for Shraddha. In addition to this, they were also putting pressure on the police station. Finally, one day this matter was reported to the Delhi Police. Delhi Police immediately arrested Aftab. He took him to the police station.
When questioned strictly by the Delhi Police, Aftab Poonawala confessed to his crime. He told the police the entire story of the murder, step by step. After this, the police and the forensic team went to his apartment and the forest and collected evidence. The pieces of Shraddha’s body were recovered. In May this year, the Delhi Police filed an additional charge sheet in this case. Digital and forensic evidence has been included in this 3,000-page charge sheet.
