The SP candidate had an altercation with the police during the by-elections and leveled major allegations of vote fraud.

UP by choice: A case of altercation between Samajwadi Party candidate Haji Rizwan and police personnel in the Moradabad Kundarki assembly by-election has come to light. The SP candidate has made serious allegations against the administration and said that Aadhaar cards are being monitored by setting up check posts within the village, which is an attempt to influence the electoral process. Haji Rizwan alleged that the police and people in the administration were trying to manipulate the elections.

Problem with booth agents and accusations of fraud in voting

Haji Rizwan accused the administration that SP polling agents were not allowed to sit at 275 polling booths, thus the party’s candidates did not get a fair contest in the elections. He also said that the police have exerted pressure to hold the poll in favor of the BJP candidate. Rizwan claims that votes are being cast based on the BJP candidate’s mistake and the police are influencing the entire process.

Doubts about transparency and equity in the electoral process

The debate between Haji Rizwan and the police continued for a long time, in which the SP candidate questioned the attitude of the administration and alleged that the administration was working in favor of the BJP to influence the election results. This development is raising questions about transparency and fairness in the electoral process. The SP candidate has asked the Electoral Commission to intervene in the face of these accusations and has appealed to ensure a fair vote.

90 candidates try their luck

We tell you that a total of 90 candidates are trying their luck in these by-elections. The maximum number of 14 candidates come from Ghaziabad assembly constituency while the minimum number of 5 candidates each come from Khair (reserved) and Sisamau seats. In the last assembly elections (2022), the SP won seats in Sisamau, Katehari, Karhal and Kundarki, while the BJP won seats in Phulpur, Ghaziabad, Majhwan and Khair. The Meerapur seat was held by the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), which has now become an ally of the BJP. All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has fielded its candidates for Ghaziabad, Kundarki and Meerapur seats, while Chandrashekhar’s Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) has fielded candidates for all seats except Sisamau.
