Indian-American businessman Vivek Ramaswamy opposed the possibility of early voting before the presidential election date. Ramaswami on Thursday demanded voting like the Indian electoral process and said that in the United States, voting should be held on the same day across the country and it should be mandatory for voters to get their identity cards before the elections.
Actually, voting for the US presidential election will be held on November 5, but people can vote about 4 weeks before the main election date. What is called early voting. During this period, both the campaign and voting process continue simultaneously. While in India the campaign stops about 36 hours before the vote. However, because India’s population is larger than that of the United States, voting takes place in different phases.
Ramaswami opposed early voting
Businessman-turned-politician Vivek Ramaswamy, while addressing a pro-Trump rally in Arizona, said, “I have to be honest with you, I never liked early voting.” I believe in one-day voting, on national holidays people should vote through ballots and for this the government should issue identity cards to the people by checking them against the voter list.
