Panna is called the city of diamonds and here people buy mines or rent them to search for diamonds. There are many people who have been doing just this for many years. There are many mines in an area of 80 kilometers of Panna, where white, colorless, Coca Cola-colored diamonds are found. Here people often find diamonds in mines and sometimes even diamonds worth 2 to 3 million rupees have been found.

Recently, a Panna worker found a diamond in his mine, worth around Rs 80 lakh. Although this person is a tractor driver, he has also been searching for diamonds in his mine. He was trying to find the diamond for many years and found it as soon as he renewed the lease. This diamond is of gem quality which is in high demand in the market.

Patta is available for 200 rupees.

How do people mine diamonds?

According to a BBC report, diamonds have been mined here for many years. There are many people who did not get a single large diamond in their life and much of their money was wasted. Apart from this, there are some people who have found more than 20 diamonds so far. Some diamonds are worth Rs 50 lakhs, while others sell for even Rs 2 or 3 million. A large population here is now addicted to diamonds and every morning people hope that they can get something today. But often this story remains everyday and they return home disappointed.

It’s not that only people from Panna or its surroundings are searching for diamonds here, apart from these, many people from other states also search for diamonds here every day to get rich overnight. Due to unemployment and debt, everyone here sees this as the only option to get rich instantly. People of all ages look for diamonds in the house, while in some houses only one person looks for the diamond.

Is there an independent system for selling diamonds?

If someone finds a diamond then there is not much problem in selling it. The person who wants to sell the diamond deposits it at the diamond office located at Panna Joint Collectorate, where it is examined. After this, the government auctions it off and after collecting some fees, the mine owner gets the money. Many people also black market it to save royalties or make quick money.
