State Congress president Devendra Yadav officially announced that the Congress will contest the assembly elections in all 70 seats in Delhi. He said the Congress will not have any alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party or any other party.

The Congress Party on Friday ruled out any alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and announced that it will contest the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections alone. Delhi Congress president Devendra Yadav said the party will contest all 70 seats on its own in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. He made it clear that there will be no alliance with any party in the elections. He said the decision on the prime ministerial candidate will be taken by the Congress Legislative Party after the elections.
There was an alliance between the Congress and the AAP in the Lok Sabha.
Let us tell you that in the Lok Sabha elections held this year, the Aam Aadmi Party had contested the elections in alliance with the Congress in Delhi. But both parties failed to win a single seat. After the Lok Sabha elections, Aam Aadmi Party leaders started saying that their party will contest only the assembly elections in Delhi. The Congress does not have a single MLA in Delhi. In the last elections, the Aam Aadmi Party won more than 60 out of 70 seats.
Earlier this month, Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal had compared the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections to a Mahabharata-like “religious war”. Addressing a programme, the former CM said the Delhi Assembly elections are like a “religious crusade”. The BJP has immense wealth and power like the Kauravas, but God and people are with us like the Pandavas.
