Ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly elections, the ongoing dispute in Mahavikas Aghadi over seat sharing has ended. An agreement was reached between the MVA on seat sharing late on Tuesday night, following which it has now been decided how many seats will go to each party in the 288 seats in the Maharashtra Assembly.
This time Congress will contest the elections with the maximum number of MVA seats. According to sources, this time the Congress will field its candidates for 104 seats in Maharashtra. In this distribution, the Uddhav faction got 96 seats, while the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad faction) got 88 seats. It is said that some of these seats could be given to MVA alliance partners such as the Samajwadi Party.
Talks could not be held on Vidarbha seats
We tell you that the issue regarding seat distribution in Vidarbha could not be reached between the three political parties. However, this has now been resolved as well. While Congress will contest from Nagpur West, Kamthi, Gondia and Bhandara, Shiv Sena has been given 9 more seats along with Vani and Ramtek. Sharad Pawar’s NCP won 11-12 seats in Vidarbha.
This time the election focuses on two alliances
After the 2019 assembly elections in Maharashtra, Congress, Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena and Sharad Pawar’s NCP together formed Maha Vikas Aghadi. BJP-Shiv Sena-NCP fight together in elections

Won 30 seats in Lok Sabha
Of the 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra, MVA had won 30, while Mahayuti could win only 17 seats. Among the parties included in the MVA, the Congress contested 17 seats and won 13 of them. Shiv Sena (UBT) had won 9 of the 21 seats it had contested, while Sharad Pawar’s NCP had contested 10 seats and managed to win 8 seats. Later, an independent candidate supported the Congress, taking the total MVA to 31.
