How to Check Your NU Result
The result portal is straightforward to use — the only challenge is result day traffic. When a large number of students hit the server simultaneously, slowdowns are expected. That is normal. Do not panic — the site is not broken. The best approach is to stay calm, try again after a few minutes, or instantly switch to SMS as your backup.
Six steps. It takes about a minute when the site behaves.
- Open the results portal. Go to results.nu.ac.bd.
- Choose your program from the dropdown (Honours, Degree, Masters etc)
- Choose your year or part. 1st Year, 2nd Year, and so on.
- Type your registration number
- Select the exam year.
- Solve the captcha and submit.
Your result loads on the next screen. Save it as a PDF straight away, because the portal often goes down again an hour later and you will not want to fight it twice.
How to Check NU Result by SMS (16222)
SMS works when the website does not. That is the whole point of it. No internet needed, no waiting. Every programme uses a different format, but one number handles everything: 16222. Open your message app and type the format below, then send it to 16222. Each message costs around 2.50 Tk.

Use your roll number here, not your registration number. SMS is the one place the two get mixed up.

What Is NU Result?
National University runs the college system in Bangladesh. Parliament created it in 1992. Around 2,200 colleges are affiliated to it, which makes it the largest affiliating university in the country and the reason your result takes months rather than weeks to arrive.
An NU result is the published outcome of one exam, for one year, for one program. Results do not come out together. Honours 3rd Year might publish in May and Honours 4th Year in August, even though both exams finished in the same season.

NU Result Not Showing?
Result day breaks the portal. Every year. Here is what to do about each failure.
The site will not load at all
Too many students are hitting it at once. Three things help:
- Try the mirror at latest result portal or result archive. It runs on separate infrastructure and often survives when the main portal does not.
- Check by SMS instead. See the section above.
- Wait until late night. Traffic drops sharply after midnight and the site becomes usable again.
The captcha will not accept my code
The captcha is case sensitive. Capital I and lowercase l look identical in the font it uses, and a wrong guess wipes the form. Click the refresh icon until you get a code you can actually read, then type it exactly as shown.
It says “No result found”
Your data is fine. One of these is wrong:
- Exam year. Pick the year the exam was held. A 2026 result for a 2024-session exam is filed under 2024, not 2026.
- Roll versus registration. Online wants registration. SMS wants roll.
- Program or year. Honours 3rd Year and Honours 4th Year are separate lookups.
- The result is not out yet. Check the archive table at the top of this page.
When Does NU Publish Results?
National University does not announce result dates in advance. Any site that gives you an exact date for an unannounced result is guessing.
What you can rely on is the pattern. Results usually publish 60 to 90 days after the last exam of that program. Honours 4th Year finished on 15 June 2026, which puts its result somewhere in the second half of August.
The process runs in five stages:
- Exam ends. Scripts go to examiners.
- Evaluation. This is the long part — two to three months.
- Result publication. Online and SMS, usually the same afternoon.
- Re-scrutiny window. Roughly two to three weeks to apply.
- Board challenge result. Published separately, months later.
NU Grading System, CGPA and Result Status
Your marksheet is available on the result portal right after publication. Occasionally it appears 2–4 hours later than the initial result — this is normal, just check back shortly after.
National University marks on a 4.00 scale. Forty is the pass mark.

The minimum passing mark is 40 in every individual subject. Scoring below 40 in even one subject results in an F grade for that subject — regardless of how well you performed in others.
Your result will carry one of three status labels:
✅ Promoted — You passed all subjects with the required grades.
⚠️ Conditionally Promoted — You passed overall but one or more subjects were cleared through grace marks applied by the university. You can move to next step, but you may need to clear those conditions through an improvement exam depending on current NU policy.
❌ Not Promoted — You did not meet the minimum passing requirement in one or more subjects, even after grace consideration. You will need to repeat 4th Year or appear in the improvement/special exam.
NU Result Re-scrutiny 2026
Re-scrutiny is not a re-mark. Nobody reads your answers again. An officer checks four things: that every question was marked, that the marks were added correctly, that the total was carried over to the right column, and that nothing was left blank by mistake. Arithmetic, not judgement.

জাতীয় বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের রেজাল্ট দুইভাবে দেখা যায় — অনলাইনে এবং এসএমএসের মাধ্যমে। দুটি পদ্ধতিই বিনামূল্যে, শুধু এসএমএসে সামান্য চার্জ কাটে।
অনলাইনে রেজাল্ট দেখার নিয়ম
প্রথমে results.nu.ac.bd ওয়েবসাইটে যান। এরপর আপনার কোর্স নির্বাচন করুন — অনার্স, ডিগ্রি, মাস্টার্স, এলএলবি বা প্রফেশনাল। তারপর বর্ষ বা পর্ব বেছে নিন, রেজিস্ট্রেশন নম্বর লিখুন, পরীক্ষার সাল নির্বাচন করুন এবং ক্যাপচা কোড টাইপ করে সাবমিট করুন।
এসএমএসে রেজাল্ট দেখার নিয়ম
মোবাইলের মেসেজ অপশনে গিয়ে লিখুন NU <স্পেস> কোর্স কোড <স্পেস> রোল নম্বর এবং পাঠিয়ে দিন 16222 নম্বরে। অনার্স ৪র্থ বর্ষের জন্য কোড H4, ডিগ্রির জন্য DEG, মাস্টার্স ফাইনালের জন্য MF। এখানে রেজিস্ট্রেশন নয়, রোল নম্বর লাগবে।
ওয়েবসাইট কাজ না করলে
রেজাল্টের দিন সার্ভারে প্রচণ্ড চাপ পড়ে। তখন অন্য সাইটটি ব্যবহার করে দেখুন, অথবা এসএমএস পদ্ধতিতে চেষ্টা করুন। রাত ১২টার পর সাইটের গতি অনেক ভালো থাকে।
